... and here we are again with another pile of thoughts and ideas untouched by human hand..... open your brain and read on.... 
in fact, let's start with a humungous bunch of snappy titles and liners.... (and these have all been heard on a station somewhere in the world, so they're all tried and tested).... "with news you can use"..... 'That's News To Me'.....'Don't Blame Me'..... "we have more fun before 10 than most people have all day"..... 'The Morning Showdown'...... "okeydokey artichokey".... ok thats 'nuff for now... more down below....  so how much radio listening do you do "on-line" nowadays?...... the internet has, and still is, changing our lives..... official statistics: households with internet access - in Oct 99 it was 18% - in Oct 2004 it was 52% !! and that was a year and a half ago.... size of online advertising in '99 was £51m - in 2004 it was £597m.....household spend online in 99 was £4.9bn and in 2004 £11.9bn...... so what Dave?..... well, all this impacts on our radio biz in many ways..... the thing to remember is that more people are spending time on-line which, in theory, means less time reading newspapers or watching tv.... BUT, they can still listen to the radio..... radio listening can actually be increased by this fact... so the trick is to come up with ways of attracting people to listen to YOU, rather than one of the hundreds of other stations or music services.....worth having a brainstorm on that one..... the potential has yet to be realised.......

NOW THERE’S AN IDEA…. and it's a production idea that radio stations in the USA have done for years, but hardly anyone here does..... using short snappy soundbites in the middle of a short snappy station/prog ID..... e.g. "It's Chris Moyles - (Pete from Big Brother sarcastic soundbite) - on national Radio 1"......  a short simple way to put a smile on the face of your listener....... and here's some more tag lines, liners & titles to turn into features..... 'Gift Wrapped Crap'..... "(station name)....your mileage may vary".... 'Fright Bites'....."Number One in (town/city name), Number Two at home"...... "(jock name) is The Business" (fart noise)...... "scratching where it itches"..... "loud and rowdy"..... and with The OSCARS looming large, how about holding your own nominations?..... 'Best introduction for the Travel'...... or whatabout 'The List!'.... you give out a topic - invite callers to give their nominations - you end up with a Top 5 list..... e.g. "simple pleasures that make a difference"...... nomination: the 1st cup of coffee of the day.... get the idea?....
